Professional Projects
•  Physics:
Having studied physics in graduate school and having retired from active employment outside of physics, I have been reeducating myself on the current state of my avocation. In the course of this study, I have identified areas in which I do not agree with the common wisdom and about which I have alternative ideas. Although part of the problem may be my incomplete understanding of where we are today, some has to do with a difference in underlying ontology and epistomology. Here I discuss areas I find interesting and comment on alternative approaches or ideas.

•  Simulation:
During my professional life, I was actively engaged in many modeling and simulation efforts. Of particular interest was simulations constructed from diverse and independententity processes. Since retiring, I have been working with professional members of my family to apply these techniques to the study of such problems as emergent behaviors and species competition in forests.
